Demand Overrides

The demand_override object

An adjustment to the demand a production schedule plans against.

Sales history cannot see a large customer that is about to order, a promotion, or a line that is being discontinued. An override is how management tells the planner about it. The period names the months the demand will occur in — months of the coming planning year; a period entirely in the past adjusts nothing, because the plan is solved for the year ahead. effective_from and expires_at bound when the override is consulted at all, which is a different question — an override for next quarter typically stops applying once the real orders arrive.

A product-line override applies to each of the line's items; an account-wide override applies to every planned item, which is how a global growth assumption (e.g. "plan for double demand") is expressed.

idstring

Demand override ID.

objectstringenumValues:demand_override

Resource type identifier.

scope_typestringenumValues:itemproduct_lineaccount

What kind of resource the override targets. Mirrors scope.type, which is only present when the scope is expanded.

scopeentitynullable

The item or product line the override targets. Expandable. Null for an account-wide override, which targets everything.

This is a single reference rather than one field per scope because a given override targets exactly one of them; scope.type names which.

Unique identifier for the entity.

objectstringenumValues:entity

Resource type identifier.

typestringenumValues:accountactorentity

handlestringnullable

Secondary human-readable identifier (e.g. email address, username, redacted API key value).
