Order analytics
A comprehensive view of sales performance with profit metrics, cumulative revenue, best sellers, and distribution breakdowns.
The order analytics dashboard is the primary sales performance view. It combines profit metrics, trend charts, best-seller rankings, and distribution breakdowns into a single page so you can evaluate revenue performance across customers, products, and reps.
Why order analytics matters
- Measure profitability: see sales, cost, profit, and gross margin at a glance with period-over-period comparison
- Spot trends: cumulative sales charts show whether revenue is tracking ahead or behind the comparison period
- Identify top performers: best-selling products and customer sales tables surface where your revenue is concentrated
- Segment revenue: distribution charts break down sales by product line, customer type, sales rep, and discount to reveal how revenue is distributed
What you'll see
Profit overview
A set of summary cards displayed across the top of the page:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Sales | Total invoiced revenue for the period, with comparison to the prior period |
| Cost | Total cost of goods sold |
| Profit | Revenue minus cost |
| Gross margin | Profit as a percentage of revenue |
Cumulative sales revenue
An area chart plotting cumulative revenue over time for both the current and comparison periods. This makes it easy to see whether you are tracking ahead or behind.
Best selling products
A scrollable, ranked list of products sorted by total invoiced value. Each entry shows quantity sold, unit price, and percent change from the comparison period.
Customer revenue by segment
An area chart breaking revenue into new-customer and established-customer cohorts over time. A "new customer" is an account created within one week of its first order.
Customer sales table
A table listing every customer with their current-period and comparison-period sales totals and percent change. A totals row at the bottom sums all values.
Invoices overview
A table of individual invoices showing invoice number, customer name, customer number, ship-to location, item count, and total sold.
Distribution charts
Four donut charts with accompanying sortable tables:
- Sales by product line
- Sales by customer type
- Sales by sales rep
- Sales by discount
Each chart includes comparison-period data so you can see shifts in distribution.

Export
An Export button downloads the sales analytics data as an Excel file.
Role-based visibility
Sales reps see a simplified view:
- The Cost, Profit, and Gross margin cards are replaced with Sales target and Progress cards showing progress toward the rep's target
- The Sales by sales rep and Customer revenue by segment charts are hidden
- The Sales reps filter is not available
- Exported data is scoped to the rep's own sales
